The Great River Outreach is a nondenominational, not for profit ogranization. Our vision is that we are a community aimed towards healing and transforming lives through the compassion and the love of Christ. Our mission is to care for God's people: one person at a time, one family at a time

We are devoted to  the mitigation of hunger and poverty in our community and the improvement of health and education. To achieve these aims, we work with the community to provide information about local and regional development, attract the public's attention, and raise funds to organize activities addressing various regional development issues.

The Great River Outreach began as a discussion between the Jail Ministry and the Carroll County Sheriff's Department about the lack of services for those inmates being released from jail, in particular females with families. From these conversations, The Table evolved. The Table in Savanna, IL began September 2007 and The Table in Mt. Carrill, IL began in July 2009. Since the beginning, we have served over 43,000 meals to those in need. We also provide a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings and it's free to all.
